I’m excited for the chance to listen and learn, especially the panel discussions on Collaborative Leadership, Achieving your Vision, and Continuing the Work of our Foremothers. It has been a long time since I’ve dipped into any continuing education, and this leadership conference in my own backyard was too great an opportunity to be missed. I was excited enough to nominate someone, and am eager to take part. Personally, I feel the need to be more vocal and engaged in community affairs, as well as the need to discern what role I could be active in within my community.
Bold Visions come in all sizes – tell us about your bold vision.
My bold vision is for me, my family, and my community. It is to see each be nurturing and nurtured; to have the vulnerable cared for and to create environments that limit vulnerability. It is to see my community be a place of enrichment, good soil from which nourishment can grow, for people of all ages and at all stages in life. I love the story “The Emperor’s New Clothes”, and feel that sometimes people get caught up in promoting and sustaining that which doesn’t exist, missing out on what is good and truly going on around them.
